# First day in Delhi – How special and memorable journey from India Gate




Delhi is called "Dilli of Dilwalon" and my journey started from the most famous place of this city **India Gate**. The weather in the morning was pleasant and the heart felt happy after seeing the lush green atmosphere around India Gate. Here, a tribute is paid to the brave soldiers of the country and every day thousands of people come to see this iconic monument. This is a perfect destination for taking photos, taking morning walks and spending time with family.


After seeing India Gate, I reached **Connaught Place (CP)**, which is considered the heart of Delhi. The white colonial buildings, branded stores, local markets and stylish cafes impressed me a lot. This place is no less than a paradise for people who are fond of shopping. I bought some handicraft items and traditional jewelery from Janpath Market. For lunch, enjoyed North Indian and Continental food in a famous cafe, the taste of which was very delicious.


As evening approached, the color of Delhi also changed. Main reached **Hauz Khas Village**, which is a famous destination of Delhi's nightlife. Here one can see a unique combination of modern cafes, rooftop restaurants and live music along with the old fort and lake. After sunset the entire area lit up with light and the sound of music was heard everywhere.


I had dinner at a rooftop restaurant from where the beautiful Hauz Khas Lake was visible. Live music and energetic crowd made the evening memorable. The dance, delicious food and friendly atmosphere made this experience the highlight of my Delhi trip.


If you are planning to visit Delhi, you must include India Gate, Connaught Place and Hauz Khas Village in your travel list.
